Fuck Yeah!
It is a very peculiar place. For me is like this beach island people go on vacation, you are having fun and all, BUT eventually you want to go back home. You feel kind of too far from everything. There are stuff happening somewhere else and these are just too far.
Quick example. I was living in Melbourne so this coworker said – I will go for a few days to Bali, blah blah, is only 6 hours flight…And I was thinking ONLY. At moments like this you realize how far you are.
Other than this not much one can complain about. My list below.
Good stuff
- Beaches and water. No, I repeat, NO other country can beat that. Blah blah shit go to Mauritius, go to Greece, go to Hawaii go to…Bullshit, Australia is the place to have peace, beautiful beaches, nice water with a few sharks. NOTHING can beat it.
- People are cool. In a very Australian way, just cool.
- Cars are V8 and have, or at least used to, Utes. Fun.
Bad stuff
- Cars are fun but roads are speed limited. Like a 3 way highway middle of nowhere…100km/h. Well shoot me. And police is rude and let’s be honest, not so smart.
- Danger animals…You don’t think about it and statistically not so many people die, but you hear about it once in a while of someone who been bitten and hm.
- Sun. Is nice, but is also dangerous so beware of it. Don’t be an idiot there, a few hours in the morning and evening is enough.
- Is not a cheap place to visit. But live with it, there are ways to make it manageable. Like avoid buying water from the shop where a liter can cost 3-4 whatever AUD.
Overall it is a great country with great people. Why did I leave then, ah? My plan was to get a resident permit and go back, eventually got it. But then got married and wife said is too far…And in many ways she is right.
Still! A lot of people do trips to China or New Zeeland, a LOT! But avoid Australia. And if you ask them why, hm…WHY??? Go to the sheep abusers for what? To see a mountain? Well go to Switzerland be cheaper than flying 20+ hours. So don’t do these stuff, just don’t, spend at least 2-3 weeks in Australia, a month if you can.
