Just spend a few minutes browsing web sites about what to do, as I have some free days. So you always Google, or whatever search engine is politically correct to use, and type “<CITYNAME> stuff to do with kids”. As you want to make the little ones happy, hence you give them food and shelter.
So what you end up with – some random mom with a few children sharing her experience. And always – we love this, this is amazing, happy pictures, amazing food…Really? Fok me, I must be the only one who also experiences travel issues, food is very often shit outside (and yes, some times I visit Michelin restaurants), overcrowded place, expensive tickets…No, never mentioned. Happiness for all but this writing cunt.
If you take anything from reading this post, before visiting anything:
- Find a decent place you will be happy to stay at. Don’t cheap on it, not saying 5 star hotel or whatever, but don’t cheap. Find a good one.
- Don’t read tourism shit. Buy yourself a public transport card and enjoy some walking around. Trust me, you will see more than enough.
- Avoid by all means touristic stuff. A restaurant that serves pizza and sushi, Mama Mia, such kitchen, such chef, wow, 50 pages menu…Small local places full with only locals. Also, for fok sake, a hair in a meal is just a hair, you will survive it.
- Don’t make photos, please, don’t. Chinese tourists have this covered, NG is also sending professionals that get up way before you for a good light. You and your shitty phone picture will not make the world better. Take pictures of the people you are with, 5-10 max a day. Just so you know – all this shit goes on servers that are constantly cooled. So think of the poor polar bear that is dying because of you!
- Avoid driving, if you can, to anywhere. Bike, plane/train/boat and walk a bit. This is coming from a person that loved driving. These days good luck finding an empty road during the day.
- Don’t judge and compare the place you are visiting. My favorite…This is shit, what we have is much better colored shit and smells of flowers. It is what it is, look at it and try to be happy.
So yes, I will just take the kids to the local paths. All the same for them.
